Happy 3rd Birthday Knightley!

Well, my little boy is growing up. He turned 3 the day after Thanksgiving. Because we went down to Missouri for thanksgiving to visit Jeffrey's family this year we had a little birthday party for him before we left. Both my boys are REALLY into cars, but more specifically Race Cars. So that is what he got for a cake (hand made by his loving mother:). This year's celebration was the best, because Knightley actually realized it was his special day. He may not have understood exactly why we celebrate someone's birth day, but he knew it was all about a "special boy's special day." Every present he opened was his "special present," and he still treats the toys he got on his birthday with extra special care and attention.

Florida Vacation 2011

We went to Florida in the middle of October, but are just getting around to posting about it :). It was a fantastically fun, magical time!! We hung out with Deb's parents and her brother and sister-in-law and their family. We went to an alligator farm, the beach, and just enjoyed the wonderful weather. We then went up to Orlando and went to Disney World for the magical experience, and the next day we went to a children's science center which was great as well! We loved it and our kids loved it. It is all documented in the video below that Deb put together.

Visitors from Utah

Back at the beginning of November we had our good friends from Utah, John Kylee and fam, come and visit for a long weekend! We had an absolutely joyful time together!! Knightley and Mason had a blast playing with their old friend Ellie, and loved making their new friend, Baby M, laugh (they can't pronounce her name so this became her new name). While they were here we saw the sights of Madison, and played a lot. The weather was perfect the whole time, so we were able to do everything we wanted. It was so much fun.

Halloween

Halloween was so fun this year. We actually went trick or treating in our neighborhood, which we have never really been able to do before. Knightley and Mason loved it! They ran from house to house and thought it was magical that they got more and more candy. We got to go with Dave and Brianna and was a blast!

Devil's Lake

On Saturday we went up to Devil's Lake Wisconsin with my brother David and his family. They usually go up there every year and love it. On our route to Devil's Lake we traveled across a river where you cross by ferry. The kids loved riding the ferry and frankly so did Jeffrey and I! When we got there we all had a picnic lunch and the kids played in the leaves and then on the beach. The whole area was beautiful. I felt I was walking through one of God's paintings the entire time.

Mason was wearing pants which very quickly got soaking wet. Cousin Elsie is in the back.

Sheboygan Weekend!

For those of you who don't know, which will probably almost everyone, Sheboygan is a city in Wisconsin right on Lake Michigan. And last week Jeffrey and I had our first weekend away from our children in Sheboygan. The only time I have been away from Knightley overnight was when I was in the hospital with Mason. What encouraged us to leave the kids (with Jeff's wonderful sister Ashley) was none other than BRIAN REGAN! One of the best comedians ever!

We stayed at a family resort called Blue Harbor and this was the view from our room. Who says Wisconsin isn't cool?! The resort also has a large indoor water park, with 4 decent sized water slides, large pools, and hot tubs!

Then the main event, Brian Regan!

This is us in our seats, which were incredible. The very very front and center! I kind of talked my way into getting these awesome seats. You could see every facial expression, so funny!

Sadly, we weren't allowed to take pictures of Brian Regan but this is the view from our seats. We were literally 5 feet away from him. Joe Bolster performed first for about 30 mins and he was so funny too (he is now also a favorite)! Then Brain performed for about an hour. By the end of the show our faces hurt from laughing so hard! The whole event definitely goes down in our personal history books!

Our whole weekend was so fun. We played in the water park, walked around all the little shops in Sheboygan, went out to eat for every meal, walked on the beach, and all with no kids! We were gone from Thursday afternoon till Saturday afternoon and it was such a nice small vacation. Hopefully we won't wait three more years to have another adult only weekend!

"Blue" the Fish

Knightley and Mason got a gift card at Christmas from the Pearsons for a fish. And we finally went out and got one. Knightley named him Blue. I have never had a fish before and actually never completely owed my own pet so it is cool having one. Jeffrey picked out, I must say, one of the coolest looking beta fishes. Knightley and Mason love him and are often now bribed to do things with the reward of feeding Blue! Thanks John and Kylee!

Milwaukee Zoo

A couple weekends ago Jeffrey's company hosted a trip to the Milwaukee Zoo! We have a zoo here in Madison and it is fairly small but it is free so I can't really complain. The outing was a lot of fun. There was a catered lunch with delicious ribs, and a magic show just for the company. After the show the magician came into the audience and did magic one on one. Since everyone dispersed except for us and my brother Dave and his family the magician came right up to our kids and performed for them. Knightley thought it was so cool and Mason was merely entertained.

We were given 4 free passes to use on anything extra we wanted. This included the Merry-Go-Round, the Butterfly Museum, the Train, or the Sea Lion Show. Being that our kids LOVE trains we decided to use them all on the train rides around the zoo. Since our kids are still 2 and under they were free to get on anything, so one of us would take the kids while the other one waited in order to maximize the free passes. They could have rode the train all day and been perfectly happy! The day at the zoo was a blast!

They had a face painting station where Knightley and Mason got their arms painted. For the rest of the day Mason was showing everyone his froggy. Mom: "Mason do you see the Lion?" Mason sticking out his arm: "Froggy"

Knightley got the bear with the balloon first and then saw his cousin Wesley had a baseball on his arm, so he got that as well.

This Cheetah was the coolest animal there. It was pacing around the pen (which is on the floor) over and over again. He would stare you right in the eye as he was walking towards you up until he turned only 1 inch away from your face. It gave me the chills

We are waiting for the train to arrive and Knightley and Mason are getting impatient.

Knightley loved the aquarium. He stood at these windows for about an hour before moving on. Mason was passed out in the stroller during this time.

Mason's Chair Complete

I was planning on getting this chair done for Mason's 1st birthday seeing as I have been holding onto the material since Mason was but a few months old. Since February 3rd has come and gone maybe this is more of a half birthday present. Originally the plan was to make one of these chairs for each child's 1st birthday, but I think 2 chairs are plenty because I am not making another one!

I know the kids both look like death, but let me explain. They are both running a low fever with the flu, and the band-aids are because Knightley keeps picking at a scab from weeks ago and Mason fell nose first in the drive-way. They are set up on our monster sack ready to watch "The Princess and the Frog," their new favorite movie.

What a busy Summer

Talk about a summer that has come and gone! We have definitely taken advantage of the beautiful weather that is a Wisconsin Summer. There has been a Greer family reunion, exterior painting of the house, getting new toilets, Nana and Poppy Jake visiting, weekly swimming at the local water park a few blocks away, Superhero night at Culver's where the kids ate for free and we all enjoyed some yummy custard, firefly watching/catching, Jeffrey flying down to San Antonio to spend 48 hours with his older brother, daily visits to the park behind our house, several weekend getaways to Grandma and Papa Greer's empty cabin in the woods where the kids can play at the beach or swim in the pond, playing in the sprinklers, and simply going on walks or playing together as a family. This list is not in any particular order, nor will it all be documented in this post. Needless to say, we have enjoyed ourselves!

When we moved in we didn't know we had crab apple trees in the front yard. At the beginning of spring they blossomed and the kids loved the "popcorn trees."

Cars 2

On 4th of July Jeffrey's parents took us all to see the new Cars movie. Knightley was so excited! It was both Knightley and Mason's first movie theater experience. Mason fell asleep for about 30 minutes of the movie and enjoyed the popcorn as much as the movie. And Knightley loved everything. His grandparents bought a special popcorn kid tray with a cool drink cup which he loved I think as much as the movie. He did get a little restless for about 30 minutes of the slow middle part of the movie but it was a long movie.

I thought the movie was OK. It definitely does not compare with the other pixar movies but a good kids movie I would not mind watching again. If you have seen Mater Tale Tales on Disney that is what this movie is just 2 1/2 hours long (Too much Mater in my opinion).

But overall the experience was a BIG success. I know it was memorable for Knightley because he often still says in his prayers, "Thank you New Cars Movie. Thank you pop. Thank you drink". So cute!

Another day of summer. I decided that I was going to surprise Jeffrey and mow the lawn today. It hadn't been mowed for over 2 weeks and was starting to get out of control. Knightley and Mason love to watch the lawn mower for a bit and then go to their favorite spot to play in, under the screened-in porch where nothing grows and where dirt/mud is plentiful. They could literally spend all day playing in this same spot, and have the time of their life. The same was true today. It took me close to 2 straight hours to mow the lawn with not one interruption from the kids. They were perfectly content playing all by themselves in the dirt.

When we leave the kitchen our back door leads into the screened-in porch. Then we go down the porch stairs and enter dirt/mud heaven.

Yes, they both have colds and snotty noses. And yes, I gave them lunch before washing them...don't judge:)

Are They Twins?

In the last month I have been asked over 10 times if Knightley and Mason are twins. Usually this occurs when there are standing a few feet apart or sitting down so you can not see their height difference. At first this question surprised me, I didn't think they looked that similar but after hearing it over and over I have noticed how similar they do look. And sometimes now I am blown away by the fact that, even to me, in the right light or right outfits, they do look identical.

Wonderful Lazy Morning

Because today is Memorial Day Jeffrey doesn't have to go to work. We made sure to schedule absolutely nothing today so we could have a lazy day full of fun times and family moments. Here are a few of the moments we captured today.

Knightley's favorite breakfast food these days is plain oatmeal with some brown sugar sprinkled over it. He used to love cooked oatmeal until one random day he refused to eat it. That day I had poured a packet of oatmeal in a bowl and boiled some water. As I was getting ready to pour the water in the bowl of oatmeal Knightley started to freak out and insisted "no water!" I poured the water in anyway and told Knightley that is how he is supposed to eat it. Bad idea. Knightley flipped and had one of his trademark tantrums (although, these days Mason is infringing on that trademark). Through his crying I heard him say that he wanted new oatmeal without water. So, in order to get him to stop I poured him a new bowl of oatmeal and simply gave it to him. He stopped crying and ate the whole thing. I have no idea where he came up with the idea to eat oatmeal this way, but now he will only eat it dry and uncooked (until today when he asked for milk with the dry/uncooked bowl of oatmeal).

Jeffrey's mom saved all the clothes that her kids used and we were lucky enough to get them when we started having our own. They are now starting to fit into the matching outfits that Jeffrey and his brothers would wear. Being that our kids are toeheads and Jeffrey and his brothers were all toeheads I am sure Knightley and Mason look just like them. Aren't they just the cutest boys ever (no bias whatsoever:).

Evolution of Dance

For the talent show one year, my best bud Brian and I learned the entire routine to "Evolution of Dance" (you can find the original here even though it doesn't even come close to the awesomeness of us). We spent many hours editing the music (and might I add that our final product for the music is better then the original guy), and practicing the moves. Box Castle

After moving we saved a bunch of our boxes so we could make a sweet fort. About a half a roll of duct tape and a couple dozen boxes later, the kids had the coolest fort a mom could make. The favorite part of the castle is opening and closing the doors and eating snacks while watching VHS movies on their tiny tv.

We're Back!!

Well, it has been far too long since we last updated this wonderful blog of ours. Truthfully, we have been busy with all the painting, cleaning, and decorating of our home. We have also been doing a lot of yard work lately now that the snow has melted and the yard is exposed in all it's unhealthy, unloved looking self. We have finished most everything on our list that we wanted done right away, and now we are going to pace ourselves for the rest of it. Pictures will be coming in the very near future so stay tuned. In the meantime enjoy this Knightley current event.

Knightley has always been interested in electronics (as all children are) and this week I let him play on my laptop as I have done in the past, but this time it was different. I saw a light bulb turn on. He figured out that if he moved the mouse a certain direction then the pointer on the screen would move that same direction. He was so proud of himself that he was giggling with excitement. Today we put his skills to the test with a puzzle on starfall.com. What cute kids!!!

I didn't want people to think we have forgotten Mason. Don't worry we actually celebrated Mason's birthday in February but just haven't blogged about it. The crazy thing is now he is the age Knightley was when Mason was born but Mason seems so much smaller than Knightley was.

The House

First, the reasons why we got a great deal on the house (sorry the formatting is off, I can't get it to look pretty!):

Yellow countertop

Blue Carpet (with no carpet pad!)

Huge holes in EVERY wall

Lots of writing on EVERY wall

Orange Carpet with hole

Missing door frame and door

Master bath zebra floor/shower/sink

Why we bought house:

Spacious rooms and big windows

Good sized kitchen, now with brand new appliances (which we had to buy, good and bad :))

Huge family room downstairs. The picture only shows half the room. Knightley and Mason love it.

It is a house! This, of course, is before the snow. Sadly, the color is worse in person.

Other reasons: 4 bedroom, 3 bath plus office. 2,300+ square feet, huge 2 car garage, huge utility/storage room, great sized yard, screened in porch (though all the screens need to be replaced), quiet road, nice established neighborhood, 2 minutes from Jeff's work (so he can come home for lunch everyday)

And seeing it is 2 minutes from the church and that the first neighbor we met is an inactive Mormon family, one would think that we actually didn't really move out of Utah.

Welcome to Wisconsin

Yesterday was a crazy blizzard, and we were shocked at the amount of snow. What made it really bad was the wind that blew the snow into huge piles. Jeff shoveled almost our whole driveway (some neighbors helped at the very end, I think they could see he was dying) with one small plastic snow shovel. I am very glad that he didn't make me come help! (I don't know if you can see, but there is in the lowest spots a 3 foot high wall of snow on both sides of our driveway!)

And as was mentioned, we have a driveway! That's right, we have a house! The decision was sadly mainly brought on by the fact that to rent something here in a decent neighborhood was very expensive and we found this foreclosed house (that needs lots of work) for a really good deal. But we are happy to have a house, though I don't know how happy Jeff is to have a driveway this week. Don't worry more pictures and details to come in the next post!

We moved!

That's right!! For those of you who don't know, we moved to Wisconsin! We had just decided that we were going to settle in Utah for a while when a company Jeffrey applied to almost a year ago got back to him and after one more interview he got a job offer to start in 1 week in Wisconsin! We were able to push the start date back to start to 3 weeks instead, but it still has been a very busy and emotional month for us. Jeffrey now works for Wiemer Bearing doing inside sales/account management. Thus far he likes it. Wiemer Bearing is also where my brother David works (how Jeffrey got referred to the job) and we are 10 minutes away from David and his family. So far the ward is great. People are really friendly and almost everyone knows our name (it helps that my brother David is the bishop). We have already been invited over for dinner twice. Though things are looking very promising here we are still very homesick for Utah and the people in it. I have waves of homesick meltdowns almost everyday still, but I hope it will improve with time.

Knightley's Birthday

We had a little party for Knightley's birthday. I made him a truck cake that I am very proud of (as you can tell from all the pictures). Knightley kept yelling "Truck, Truck" at the cake but his favorite part were the skittles and oreos (the lights and wheels). His party was so fun. His friends (who are still all girls) spoiled him with gifts, all of which he loves. I tried a few games that didn't work with two year olds but the party favors were a hit. Overall I think it was a success!

This morning I gave Knightley a piece of bread and some water, and seeing both him and Mason seemed happy I left to go get ready for the day. When I got back I found this. And yes Knightley knows how to open the oven. They are both very proud of themselves.

Prison Break

Jeff and I just finished watching all 4 seasons of Prison Break in just 12 days. We loved it! But as the characters got their freedom at the end of the show, Jeff and I also felt like we got our freedom from our addiction to the show. Some people said they only liked the first season of the show, but I loved all 4. Go Prison Break! I will miss you!

Thanksgiving Point

Today we went to Thanksgiving Point's farm. Knightley had a blast. It was a bit odd for me to pay to see farm animals (as I saw them all the time growing up) but I think it was well work the $4 it cost for all of us to go. Knightley loved it! And the best part was the pony ride, which he got two of. He was a bit afraid to get too close to the animals in their pens but when it came to riding the pony he was a pro and not afraid at all.

Knightley's Fashion Show

I usually ask Knightley every morning, "do you want to wear this or this today?" He never has cared enough to give a response, until last week. I posed my usual question and in response he reached for his red jacket hanging up in his closet. I tried to talk him out of it, but nothing I said would do until he had on his red jacket (without a shirt on underneath). I tried to change him later in the day, but every time I tried to take off his jacket he would cry.

I thought it might have been a one-time thing. But the next time he saw is red jacket, he demanded to have it on. This time he had a shirt on underneath, and about half way through the day he was getting pretty hot and sweaty. I took off his jacket but he cried and pointed to the jacket then his chest until I put it back on him.

As bad as it is having an obsession with one article of clothing, later that day he found a new favorite. While I was putting away Mason's newborn clothes Knightley saw their blessing outfit hat. He first tried to put it on Mason and then wanted it on himself. So knowing what would happen if I didn't give in, I tied it around his head. Because it is so small it would occasionally fall off, but as soon as Knightley found out he would bring it to me to put back on his head. So for the rest of the day he was sweating, looking quite ridiculous, but acting very happy, with his red jacket and tiny hat.

This is our new double jogging stroller. Nana Jake bought it for us, and we love it! Mason is still a little too small to go in, but Knightley loves riding in it and Jeff loves jogging with him. Below is Knightley and Madeleine (Knightley's neighbor and friend).

Below is Knightley's new chair. Jeff and I made it for him. Madeleine actually got a chair like this for her birthday, and when we saw it, we thought it was so cool that we decided to make one for Knightley. It ended up taking more time, money, and effort than we originally planned, but we had fun. I did all the machine sewing but Jeff had an equal part in every thing else. As you can see Jeff is already trying to brainwash our kids to love the Chargers.

I finally finished my two long standing sewing projects! I made 8 quiet books and one baby quilt.

I originally made the quiet books with the idea to mass produce them and sell them somehow. But after making these 8 I don't plan on ever making another one! So now I am just trying to get rid of these and I hope to sell them for $25 each. So if you know someone who would be interested let me know!

And I don't really know what to do with the quilt I made. I think it is the best done quilt I have made thus far in my life, but I really don't need another baby blanket. But no matter what I do with it I am very glad to be done!!!

It has been nice and cold and snowy here in Utah so we got all bundled up and enjoyed playing outside. Knightley liked being outside, but the snow was too deep for him to walk around in so he mainly just sat in it and watched Deb and I make a snow man.

My family had a family reunion in Wisconsin the weekend before the 4th of July. It was just my siblings our kids and my parents. It was great to see everyone. The main event of the reunion was going to an indoor waterpark. I have decided it is the best type of waterpark to go to. No blazing sun, cold bursts of wind, or long lines. Not to mention, it's always the perfect temperature and small enough to always locate family members.

So Jeff and I love this TV show called Life. It is a mix between monk, law & order, and CSI. The basis is this: Charlie Cruise was a good cop then was falsely accused of murdering his best friend and family. He was in prison for 12 years, then was released because of false evidence and given lots of settlement money and the rank of a detective. Every episode him and his partner solve a murder, but there is an underlying story of him trying to figure out why he was framed. We just watched the season 2 finale last night and it was so good! I just want to spread the word! I think you can watch a lot of the episodes on hulu.com. (I recommend watching a few episodes from the first season, then you can watch whatever you want after that!)

He doesn't really know how to swallow yet, so at least half of it ends up on him and not in his mouth but it sure is fun trying to feed him!

So this is my first week at home alone with Knightley. I love it! Being a mom is great, though I admit it is harder then I thought it would be, mainly because Knightley hates going to sleep though he is really tired. The other sad part is that Jeffrey gets home really late from work between 6:30 and 7:30. But at least he doesn't have to be at work till 9:00. But we are both super happy. Jeff still likes his new job and I love my new job :).

Days in the Life of Us

So, Jeffrey got a new job working up in Draper for Investools. They offer individual investor education, and that is what Jeffrey will be selling to people who call in asking more about it. He started it this week and is really enjoying it, plus the commute isn't too bad at all.

Since Knightley has been about 5 weeks old he started what I believe is called 'social smiling.' Meaning that when someone smiles at him, he smiles back. Well, he is one smiley baby. He is right around two and a half months and he smiles constantly. He gets smiling so much that he acts like he is about ready to explode with happiness (since he can't quite laugh yet). It is the cutest thing in the world, so we had to take a photo shoot.

My mom came in town a couple weeks ago and the motel she was staying at had an indoor swimming pool so we decided to take Knightley for his first swimming lessons. He rather enjoyed himself. He has always liked water and he did the same thing he does when he takes a bath; He just sits there relaxing.

We love our new apartment! Below you can see our new couches a excellent craigslist purchase, well at least we think so. And our nice big living room. It is great for playing the wii :)

And this is Knightley's room. One of his walls is cinder block so we decided to cover it up with Fabric. We stole the idea from our friends the Guinns. You just need lots of liquid starch and will some pressing work the fabric just sticks. And when we leave someday we will just pull it all off (Cool huh!) We think it turned out good. Hopefully Knightley will like it!

Christmas in Texas

This year for Christmas we went to Texas. It was really cool because it was the first time everyone (all the siblings and their spouses, and their babies) have been together. It was tons of fun! To sum up the vacation in one sentence; We played games and ate and played games and ate and played games and slept, then repeat (for 2 weeks). Since a picture says a thousand words, I'll let them do the rest of the talking.

On our way down to Texas we routed our plane through Arizona so Grandma could see her great grandson.

Once arriving in Texas, Nana couldn't let her newest little grand baby out of her sight. They bonded on the couch like this many times.

Needless to say, Emperor Knightley was one spoiled kid for his first Christmas.

Ashton is either genuinely concerned for his younger cousin, or he just wants his bottle.

On Novemeber 25th at 12:21 a.m. Knightley was born. He was 8 lbs 4 oz, and 18.5 inches long. He and Mom are as healthy as ever.

Debbie showed up to work this last Friday and it turned out that her co-workers had decorated her cubicle and threw her a surprise baby party! She works at the coolest place in the world, with the coolest people in the world. They ordered pizza for lunch and made Deb walk around with a crown that said "Mom to Be" with a matching purple sash. She is going to miss working there, but she can't wait to be a mommy.

Ok, so this is the only picture I have on my computer of me really pregnant (I haven't downloaded pictures from my camera yet) And no Jeff was not here for Halloween but a friend created a picture of us together using a picture of Jeff from last year and I picture of me from this year (isn't it great! We are Mr. & Mrs. Mint from Candyland, by the way).

But the exciting news is, I went to the Doctor yesterday and found out I could have Knightley any day now! He normally doesn't check to see if you are dilated or anything until two weeks before you are due, but I asked him to check a bit early. And when he did he was suprised to find that I was dilated two to three cms and looked like I was all set to have the baby. So much in fact that he said I could get induced a week early, that is if I didn't have the baby before then! Crazy huh! So my induce date is the 24th, but we will see if Knightley comes before then!

Camping and the Timp Caves

We went camping with some friends a couple weekends ago. We went to the Timpanogos Caves in American Fork Canyon. It was a lot of fun and the weather was beautiful. The first night we got there we set up camp and gathered around the campfire for dinner and dessert. The other two couples we went with are good friends of ours and both of them are pregnant with their first as well! You can imagine what the topic of conversation was for most of the night. The next morning we went on a hike to the Timpanogos caves. It was a fairly strenuous hike, but once we got to the caves it was all worth it. They were really cool, and the tour guide was really good too. After the steep hike down we loaded up and went home, satisfied and thoroughly exhausted.

A couple weeks ago Debbie's work paid for us to go see "The Dark Knight." It was awesome, both the movie and the fact that we got to see it for free while eating free popcorn! I do admit that it was a little dark, but we both absolutely loved it. It definitely lived up to all the hype and didn't let me down at all.

Great News! I have been applying for a lot of jobs here in Provo/Orem and I actually was offered a position at SirsiDynix (a library software company) as a Sales Analyst. I started yesterday and am enjoying not having to clock in or out because I get paid a salary. I am mostly excited because I will be learning valuable information to help further my career in sales. I am still not quite sure what my job entails because I haven't done much yet, but I can't wait until I am actually trained and responsible for something. It is really neat that both Debbie and I have 'real' jobs (as we call them). During the day we 'im' (instant message) each other to pass the time when it gets slow which is really fun.

It is very different having a job because now whenever there are errands to run I can't just go and run them whenever I want. I can't clean the house or mow the lawn or fix things up during the day, I have to do them when I get home from work. It is great to have a job, but it is a little different from before when I was unemployed and done with school with all the time in the world for the past 3 months. Debbie and I are both really happy with our jobs and we can't wait for the next really big news in 4 months...when Knightley is born!

Trip to the Dermatologist

Since graduation I have been looking for various jobs through every means available to me, with varying degrees of success. I still have yet to finalize any deals (though I am getting close on a couple), so I keep on keeping on. In the meantime I have enjoyed being the homemaker of the family while Debbie brings home the bacon (literally, Smith's had bacon on sale for a dollar a pack so we bought our years supply!).

I clean the house, do the laundry, mow and water the yard, pull weeds, and whistle while I work. When I run out of things to do I follow-up with any jobs I am looking into, or go on a bike ride around town listening to an audio book. I recently gave in to the pressures of society and bought an ipod, and I absolutely love it. Life has been this way for the past few months, until...

Because Debbie is meeting the deductible for our insurance we both decided to get some warts removed (my first one ever) and then to have some of my moles checked out. Unfortunately the Dermatologist found a couple of moles he wanted to take off because they could be cancerous. One on my back and one on my face. In hearing this news I probably went a little pale because I know what must be done in order to have moles removed. A shot must enter my skin to deaden the pain and then the doctor must use razors to cut them out. Shots never hurt, and I can't feel the pain of the razors cutting into my skin so why is it such a big deal? To be honest I don't know, but I just can't stand the idea of metal objects piercing or cutting into me. I get all woozy, light headed, and apparently I lose all color in my face.

I show up to the Dermatologist's office at 4pm on Tuesday all alone, with no one here beside me. I slowly make my way to his office and wait for someone to call my name. Then I go into a smaller surgery room and wait (again) until he comes. At this point I am reminded of Jerry Seinfeld's 'Doctor's Office' skit. At last, the moment of truth arrives and I am laying in the chair sweating all over it, and turning a nice ghostly white color. I tell the doctor that this is normal and for him to continue. He plunges the needle in my lip and leaves it there for what felt like 30 minutes. Then he does the same thing again and again. I start to feel like the victim in Bill Cosby's 'Dentist Story.' After he gets my lip good and numb he tells me to close my mouth and keep it still while he pulls out various razor sharp knifes. While he is cutting into my lip he starts asking me all kinds of questions, to which all I can answer is "mmm hum" (yes) and "uh uh" (no). Then he asks me "is your baby a girl or a boy"...silence...

After 15 minutes of feeling him tug and push he finishes. I get up to lay on my stomach and see that I have covered the leg rest part of the chair with sweat dripping all down it. The doctor notices and says "A little warm in here isn't it." I reply by saying "yeah" knowing full well that the room was cold and I only sweat so much because of my great fear. I lay down and he sticks me right in the back and leaves it there. Luckily he only used one shot. Immediately after removing the shot he takes a razor (like one you would shave with) and proceeds to scrape out my mole. I can feel the scraping all the while, and can take no more when finally he is done. He pretty much scraped out the mole and left a crater in my back.

I finally left the office and picked up Debbie from work. For an ordinary person, getting a mole removed is no big deal. For me, it is something I will remember my entire life.

Happy 1st Anniversary to Us

Today was our one year anniversary. To start it off Debbie took the day off, and since I don't have a full-time job as of yet I was able to have the day off as well.

We started the day off by going to the temple bright and early. Debbie was feeling a little funny in the morning but was determined to go. We were asked to be the witness couple and the funniest thing happened (it wasn't funny at the time, but now it is and it makes for a great story). Debbie fainted right there at the alter. The temple workers had to stop the endowment and we were relieved of our duty as the witness couples. Debbie was feeling alright enough to continue on with the endowment, but after a little while she told the worker sitting next to her she was feeling funny and had to lie down. They stopped the endowment again and we exited the room. Debbie wasn't feeling well enough to finish so we unrecorded the names and will have to do them again. She felt a lot better after laying down and eating some crackers and drinking some juice at the first aid room in the temple (which I didn't even know they had). The fainting was nothing serious, and it is just because she is pregnant.

Speaking of being pregnant. Debbie and I decided to go to the mall and pay for a ultrasound service where they can tell the gender of your baby. We are going to find out from our doctor come next Wednesday, but as young to-be parents we couldn't wait 10 more days, we had to know now. We found out we are having a BOY! We both wanted a boy, and it turns out our wish came true. Our excitement is through the roof! We are glad it isn't a girl because we don't have any names picked out, but we do for a boy...Knightley Leland Jacobson. He is going to be a stud, with all of his good qualities coming from his amazing mother.

For all those who haven't heard, Deb and I are having a baby! We both would like him to be a boy, so we refer to him as a 'him.' He is due the first week in December, which is perfect for taxes;)

Life is grand here in good old provo. I just graduated from BYU, and my lovely wife has been graduated since August last year. She has been working at Omniture as an Accountant, and I am interviewing for a job at Fidelity here in American Fork. I will have my final interview on the 11th this month and, if I get the job, start on July 7th. I am really excited to start a real job doing something that I really enjoy.

Trevin and Kalisha live a stones throw from us so we are looking forward to playing with them this summer as long as they don't get tired of us. We are in the same ward which is really fun, but we miss playing with Ashley (she'll be back soon though:).
